Quick and Dirty Operating System (QDOS): Developed by Seattle Computer Products in 1980, QDOS was a CP/M-like operating system designed for the Intel 8086 microprocessor. Microsoft purchased it for $50,000 and adapted it into MS-DOS, which became the foundation of early IBM PC operating systems.
